Method Design announced the recent hire of Creative Director Heebok Lee. Born in Seoul, Korea, Lee joins Method from Prologue Films, and will be based in Method’s Santa Monica location.

“Heebok’s experience at Prologue in main titles and his beautiful, abstract approach to design, visual effects and CG is a great compliment to our artistic offering in the LA studio. It’s fantastic to have him aboard,” commented Method Design Executive Creative Director Steve Viola.

Since graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000, Lee, whose work consists of kinetic typography and interactive design, has pursued a career as a motion graphics designer and art director with several media firms in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh including yU+co, Pittard Sullivan, Troika, Wall to Wall Studios and Prologue Films.

Lee has been awarded a number of honorable awards and his work has been presented in a number of design magazines and festivals such as IdN, Stash, SIGGRAPH, OneDotZero, Annecy, and RESFEST. Films Lee has worked on include The Raven, Superman Returns, The Incredible Hulk, The Thing, Ninja Assassin, The Tempest, Spider Man 3, and Speed Racer.

Method Design is a division of Method Studios led by Executive Creative Director Steve Viola. The division, launched in January 2012,  completed titles for Marvel’s The Avengers earlier this year, and is currently working on the main title sequence for Cloud Atlas.
