Heavenspot, a Hollywood-based full service international design agency, recently completed the interactive website launch for TENACIOUS D IN THE PICK OF DESTINY, a feature film that will be released by New Line Cinema in early 2006 starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

The interactive site package includes Flash animation, an original interactive interface, a progressive design aesthetic and high quality Flash video.

The project was motivated by the client’s desire to create an identity that would provoke curiosity about the film and appeal to the core TENACIOUS D fans.

“One of the main challenges was to create a look and feel that represented the storyline of the film without giving away too much,” explained Chevon Hicks, creative director of Heavenspot. “We love bringing our broadcast skills to the web, so we decided to composite key elements in After Effects and Combustion and then imported them into Flash to create one cohesive animation.”

The teaser video, HELL O’CLOCK NEWS, was produced by Monkey Feeds The Robot, a Los Angeles based production company.

Work on the project began in mid-July and was completed in August. All
design, animation and production was completed in Heavenspot’s Hollywood, headquarters. Design for the project was completed in Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS, with all animation and interface design was done in Flash MX 2004, with additional animation done in After Effects 6.5 and Combustion 4.0.
