Salma Hayek is set to play a bearded lady in Universal's horror drama CIRQUE DU FREAK, reports VARIETY. Based on Darren Shan's bestselling 12-book children's series, the story follows a vampire, played by John C. Reilly, who makes a 14-year-old his half-vampire assistant, who eventually spurs a war between the vampires and their rivals, the Vampanese. Paul Weitz is directing. He will also produce alongside Lauren Shuler Donner. Production is set to begin in February.
