In his new role, Hannaford will be responsible for the visual effects department, encompassing Flame, Inferno, Fire, Combustion and Backdraft. He will also continue to work as an effects artist and vfx shoot supervisor.

Hannaford is involved with every stage of the production process from storyboard quotation, shoot supervision, leading the 12 strong vfx team and ensuring work is carried out to the highest creative standards. He will also be involved with implementing and advising on new technologies.

Hannaford has been responsible for producing work for such clients as Ford, Dove, Hugo Boss, Jaguar, Lego, Marks & Spencer, Nokia, Shell, Smirnoff Red, Playstation, Virgin Mobiles, Betaband and Michael Jackson.

Hannaford commented, "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be involved with managing such a fantastic team and company. It is a huge personal challenge. My main responsibilities are to keep our team motivated and our clients happy. I wouldn't want to do this anywhere else other than Rushes".

Prior to joining Rushes in 1994 as senior editor, before being promoted to senior visual effects artist, Hannaford worked as an online editor in his native Canberra before joining VHQ in Singapore & Malaysia. Hannaford had previously worked at Speckert & Partner in Hamburg.
