HEAT VISION reports that GREEN LANTERN scribe and FLASHFORWARD showrunner Marc Guggenheim has been hired to write Warner Bros.' LEONARDO DA VINCI AND THE SOLDIERS OF FOREVER.

Based on an idea from Adrian Askarieh, the story casts Da Vinci as the leader of a secret society that investigates supernatural phenomena. It's being described as a cross between NATIONAL TREASURE, INDIANA JONES and CLASH OF THE TITANS.

The film is being produced by Askarieh, Roy Lee and Doug Davison.

WB has also tapped Guggenheim to pen a new version of THIEVES OF BAGHDAD, which is being produced by Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne's Unique Pictures.

The film follows Sinbad, Ali Baba and a collection of Arabic thieves as they team up for their biggest capper ever. It's being described as a cross between OCEAN'S 11 and ARABIAN NIGHTS.
