Platinum Dunes and New Line have hired FREDDY VS. JASON writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift to pen a retooling of FRIDAY THE 13TH, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Not a straight remake of the original film, which only featured the iconic killer in the final frames without his trademark hockey mask, this version of the tale will feature the masked Jason slashing up frisky teens at the first film's original location, Crystal Lake. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are the producers. Paramount and MTV Films are also producing.
