FIELD OF DREAMS writer/director Phil Alden Robinson has been hired to write an untitled heist flick for J.J. Abrams and Paramount, reports HEAT VISION. The film is based on Joshua Davis' WIRED article, “The Untold Story of the World’s Biggest Diamond Heist.”

The story follows the 2003 heist of approximately $100 million worth of diamonds, gold and jewelry from the Antwerp Diamond Center. A team of Italian thieves had to penetrate 10 layers of security to reach the vault.

Abrams will produce through Bad Robot alongside Circle of Confusion.
