The Hollywood Reporter writes that the planned sixth FAST AND FURIOUS has now been split into two films. Vin Diesel revealed that during development director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan determined they needed a seventh film to tell the story they had planned to tell.

FAST FIVE brought together a host of franchise favorites Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson, as well as adding Dwayne Johnson. The last film also teased fans with the return of Eva Mendes and Michelle Rodriguez.
