Steve Norrington, who hasn't helmed a movie since 2003's LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, will make a return to the director's chair for CLASH OF THE TITANS, reports VARIETY.

The original CLASH was a Greek mythical adventure, featuring special effects from legend Ray Harryhausen. For the remake, Lawrence Kasdan rewrote Travis Beacham's screenplay, which is the first time he has done so since THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

Basil Iwanyk is producing the film via his Thunder Road company for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

Production is set to begin next year.
