Ballistic also announced the first title in its d'artiste Digital Artists Master Class series. d'artiste (pronounced dah-tee-st) Digital Painting features four of the community's leading digital artists demonstrating their techniques and approaches. More than just tricks and techniques, d'artiste delves into each artist's overall approach, their choice of subject matter and what inspires them.

Leading artists Robert Chang, Linda Bergkvist, John Liberto and Philip Straub each take readers behind the screens of their digital illustrations showing the Painter/Photoshop techniques that create moods and subjects that work. Step-by-step techniques show how to paint faces, build sketches into artwork and create dynamic illustrations.

Ballistic is currently looking for artists to submit digital images for consideration to be included in d'artiste Digital painting. Images can be created in any digital illustration application. Ballistic is interested in digitally created fine art (most likely in Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter) whether it be for commercial use or personal satisfaction.

There is no cost, or limit, to enter. Artwork to be considered for d'artiste Digital Painting needs to be submitted before Jan. 15, 2004.

Artists can enter their works at the Ballistic Publishing Web site: www.ballisticpublishing.com.

Ballistic Publishing, a division of Ballistic Media, is dedicated to creating the highest quality publications for the CG and digital art community. Ballistic Publishing is based in Adelaide, Australia.
