Emmerich's Anonymous to Open Small
Sony Pictures has changed its plans to open Roland Emmerich's ANONYMOUS wide on Oct. 28, reports Deadline.com. The studio will now bring the Shakespeare conspiracy thriller to 250 screens in order to build word of mouth for the period flick.
The film proposes that Shakespeare did not actually write his plays and that it was in fact Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford. The film stars Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, Sebastian Armesto, Rafe Spall, David Thewlis, Joely Richardson and Jamie Campbell Bower.
