Roland Emmerich has stopped pre-production on his next film SINGULARITY, reports Heat Vision. Emmerich, who wrote the script with Harald Kloser, wants to give the script another polish. The story follows a man whose body is made up of nanobots.

Renown futurist and AI specialist Ray Kurzweil has been brought in to help advise Emmerich and Kloser. Singularity is also the title of Kurzweil's most recent book and is the term used for the point when computers get so smart that humans will no longer be able to keep up with them.

Production was set to begin on the $175 million production in March 2012 with an eye on a May 2013 release. How the halt in pre-production will affect this schedule is yet unknown.
