Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are working on getting CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 into production quickly. The L.A. TIMES reports they want to start filming in January 2011. Director Jonathan Liebesman (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING) is the leading candidate to replace Louis Letterier.

The studios want to lock down the sequel before star Sam Worthington has to commit to the AVATAR sequel. Unlike the original film, the sequel will be filmed in 3-D instead of being converted.

The original film has earned $486.8 million globally.
