Carla Gugino is Watchmen's Silk Spectre
Carla Gugino (SIN CITY) has taken the role of Sally Jupiter, aka Silk Spectre, in Warner Bros. screen version of the DC Comics graphic novel, WATCHMEN, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The cast already includes Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman.
Set in an alternative 1985 America where costumed crime fighters are outlawed, former "masks" investigate the mystery behind the murder of one of their own. Gugino's character is a former burlesque dancer, who becomes a crime fighter and sex symbol as part of the hero team, the Minutemen. Akerman plays her daughter, aka the new Silk Spectre.
Production on the Zack Snyder-directed film will begin in the fall in Vancouver.
