After seven years as CaféFX's senior effects producer and supervisor, Vicki Weimer has been promoted to exec producer. Weimer, a 30-year veteran of the motion picture industry, will handle team building and oversee all CaféFX feature film projects.

"Vicki has been an incredible asset to us during her tenure here at the Café. She has actually been doing the EP role here for years. We are just making it official," said Jeff Barnes, ComputerCafé Group's president/ceo.

Weimer joined CaféFX in 1997, after holding senior positions at Pacific Ocean Post and Dubs Inc, where she held general post-production and visual effects responsibilities.

Her feature credits include SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (Paramount Pictures), PANIC ROOM (Columbia Pictures), ARMAGEDDON (Touchstone Pictures), SPY KIDS II (Dimension Films), THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN (20th Century Fox), and television commercial clients include Nestle's Hot Pockets, AT&T, as well as graphics packages for NBC's DATELINE NBC, among other assignments.

CaféFX, a division of the ComputerCafé Group, is headquartered in Santa Maria, California, and has a studio in Santa Monica, California. The company was founded, in 1993, as ComputerCafé by Jeff Barnes and David Ebner to produce broadcast promotions and television ID packages. Both the Santa Maria, and the Santa Monica studio are outfitted with the latest effects, design, compositing and rendering technologies, including Discreet Logic Flame, Commotion, LightWave, Digital Fusion, PhotoShop and After Effects.
