Berg Set to Command Battleship

Variety weblog reports Universal has confirmed HANCOCK helmer Peter Berg as the director onboard BATTLESHIP.

Berg has inked a two-pic deal with Universal and follow BATTLESHIP with the Afghan war drama LONE SURVIVOR.

Universal has set BATTLESHIP for a July 1, 2011 theatrical release. The studio’s STRETCH ARMSTRONG pic was previously announced for an April 11, 2011 release date.
