Tony Kebbell has joined the cast of THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE from Disney, reports VARIETY, and will play a celebrity illusionist who teams up with Alfred Molina's evil sorcerer to gain power.

Nicolas Cage stars as the sorcerer with Jay Baruchel as the apprentice and Teresa Palmer as the love interest.

Set for a July 16, 2010 release, the film is currently lensing in New York City. It is based loosely upon the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" sequence from the studio's FANTASIA and will be about a college student who is reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer in Manhattan.

Jon Turteltaub is directing. Cage and Saturn Films partner Norm Golightly are exec producing with Todd Garner, Barry Waldman and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' Mike Stenson and Chad Oman.

Kebbell and Molina are also set to be a part of Disney's PRINCE OF PERSIA, set to debut next year as well.
