Alex Garland (28 DAYS LATER) is in talks to pen Warner Bros.' re-imagining of LOGAN'S RUN, reports HEAT VISION. Unlike the 1976 film, starring Michael York, the new version will be closer to William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson's novel. The story is set in a future where all humans are killed at the age of 30. When someone tries to avoid the mandatory execution, they are labeled runners and are hunted by the Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who becomes a runner. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing. The studio is still in talks with commercials director Carl Rinsch to direct.
