Guy Hudson, who worked on the visual effects for such notable projects as ALIEN, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, JURASSIC PARK and the DINOTOPIA TV series, passed away suddenly on Dec. 24, 2003 from a brain hemorrhage. He was 45 years old.

Hudson first came to Northern California in 1987 to work for Chris Walas Inc. Since then he has worked for such facilities as Disney, Henson Prods., Industrial Light & Magic and Western Images.

Hudson returned to London in 2002 to be closer to his family, and subsequently joined The Framestore, where he worked on HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN at the time of his death.

According to colleagues, Hudson's personality, charm and great sense of humor were irresistible forces to all who came into contact with him. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Josephine and Ron Wyatt; his sisters, Joanna and Harriet; a nephew; and four nieces.

A memorial is scheduled for Feb. 8 at 4:00 pm in San Francisco at Tosca Café/Bar, 242 Columbus Ave. An online memorial is being hosted at www.sohopubs.com/guy/.
