VFXWorld Moderates Sky Captain Panel Tomorrow at iHollywood Forum

iHollywood Forum will host its third annual Digital Studio Summit on Nov. 2, 2004, at the Monica Laemmle Theatre in Santa Monica, California, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.

Animation World Network is sponsoring the event in association with the American Film Market (AFM). VFXWorld editor Bill Desowitz will be moderating a panel on SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW. Other speakers will include Scott Ross, chairman/ceo, Digital Domain; Gary Morse, vp DVD and Video Operations, Fox; Cliff Plumer, cto, Industrial Light & Magic; Rob Legato, Academy Award-winning vfx supervisor; Tim Sarnoff, Sony Pictures Imageworks president; Michael Fink, vfx supervisor on X-MEN and X2; Charles S. Swartz, exec director/ceo, Entertainment Technology Center; Darin Hollings, SKY CAPTAIN vfx supervisor; Kees Van Oostrum, cinematographer of GODS AND GENERALS; and Mike Horton, founder of Los Angeles Final Cut Pro Users Group.

The summit will address the key issues in how digital technologies have transformed the film and television business, as well as an exclusive showcase featuring innovators in enabling technologies and services. It will address business opportunities on how digital technologies are redefining the acquisition, development, production, delivery and distribution of the film industry.

Topics include state-of-the-art current and soon-to-be-deployed technologies: from digital production and post-production, digital effects and animation, high definition, digital television and digital video production, to digital cinema, broadband and satellite film distribution, digital mastering, cross-platform content production and digital asset management.
