VFX Supervisor Brevig to Help Yogi Bear Steal Picnic Baskets

Longtime VFX Supervisor Eric Brevig has been hired by Warner Bros. to direct the 3-D CG/live action YOGI BEAR film, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon was originally set to be a 2-D film and had SURF'S UP director Ash Brannon attached. Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia will write the screenplay. Donald De Line and Karen Rosenfelt will produce with Jon Berg overseeing for WB.

Brevig's credits as supervisor include THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and MEN IN BLACK at WB and the 3-D live action JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH for Walden.

This new YOGI will offer an updated take on the 50-year-old bear and his sidekick Boo Boo, who get into misadventures in the fictional Jellystone Park as they elude Ranger Smith in their search for the forbidden picnic baskets.
