VFX Producer Gareri Joins Sony Pictures Imageworks

Visual effects producer Joe Gareri has joined Sony Pictures Imageworks' production management team, it was announced today by Tim Sarnoff, president of Sony Pictures Imageworks.

For his first assignment, Gareri will be in Chennai to manage and supervise the staffing and project work flow of Imageworks India's visual effects work to and from Sony Pictures Imageworks facilities throughout the United States. Gareri will report to Jenny Fulle, executive vice president of production at Imageworks and co-managing director of Imageworks India.

Fulle said, "His experience brings a new level of knowledge to the operation and allows the artists there to really dive into our pipelines and create superior work on all Imageworks projects."

Prior to joining Imageworks, Gareri served as the senior executive producer in charge of production at Pacific Title and Art Studio where he was responsible for managing the production staff and producing visual effects projects within the facility's pipeline.

Gareri worked on a number of projects there, such as PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, RV, SON OF THE MASK, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, CATWOMAN, THE RING, MEN IN BLACK II, MURDER BY NUMBERS, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS and THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT.

Before Pacific Title and Art Studio, Gareri served as an executive producer at Pacific Ocean Post film where he produced visual effects for films such as THE SALTON SEA, LITTLE NICKY, X-MEN, THREE KINGS, and MYSTERY MEN.

Gareri began his career during the mid '70s in Huntsville, Alabama at WAAY-TV. He received his First Class License in broadcasting from the FCC, allowing him to move into the larger television markets.
