Based upon the reception of the AEAF Awards in Sydney last December, organizers of the Australian Effects & Animation Festival (AEAF) have introduced a Short Film Festival May 12-13, 2003 in Melbourne at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square. The shorts festival will showcase some of the best digital and animated material submitted to the AEAF Awards 2002, as well as some new material. Jim Rygiel/VFX supervisor on the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy is one of the featured speakers. Entries on Pal VHS are due no later than Friday, April 18, 2003. Submissions are free and can be from any era and style, but must contain a "reasonable amount" of CGI and not exceed 15 minutes. For further info go to www.ddmw.com.au.
