VES-VFX Festival Adds ‘Paradiso’ History Panel

Oscar-nominated visual effects supervisor Mike Fink (CONSTANTINE, the X-MEN movies) will lead a panel on the history of vfx as part of the 2005 VES-VFX Festival of Visual Effects, June 25 at 9:00 am. Fink, who is also a VES chair, is calling his panel: Visual Effects Paradiso 700 Years of Visual Effects. The annual festival by the Visual Effects Society will take place June 24-26 at the recently renovated Aero Theater in Santa Monica.

Additionally, the VES announced that the Every Picture Tells a Story Gallery is offering a special discount to festival pass holders on the purchase of their upcoming series of Ray Harryhausens special prints. The gallery will be releasing a series of prints based on visual effects legend and past VES Award honoree Ray Harryhausen's pre-production artwork from the classic films JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS, 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD and 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH. This is the first time that any of his personal collection of artwork from these films has been made available in such a manner. The gallery is located across the street from the Aero Theater. Further information and images of the prints can be found on the Every Picture Tells a Story website: www.everypicture.com. This July, the gallery will be hosting an exhibition featuring many of Ray's pre-production artwork from his classic films as well as an in-store print and book signing.

Festival passes are on sale and available by logging on to the VES Festival website at www.vesfestival.org.
