VeggieTales Growing In Brazil

Marking a major step forward in the companys international expansion of the award-winning VEGGIETALES property, Classic Media announced that the all-new TV format featuring the popular VEGGIETALES characters has achieved critical and commercial success in Brazil for leading Brazilian distributor Top Tape. Looking to expand on the popularity of VEGGIETALES in Brazil since the introduction of the animated series last year, Top Tape developed the format for TV Record Network, Brazils second largest television network. Top Tape has created 11 one-hour episodes for TV Record, which first aired in Brazil in March 2005, and has routinely reached as high as third in network ratings.

The one-hour variety show format features both live-action and animated VEGGIETALES segments. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber characters host the show that is filled with signature VEGGIETALES humor, kid on the street interviews, animation and Silly Songs.

Producing the show for Top Tape and TV Record is Marlene Mattos, who for the last 20 years has produced the most successful childrens show in Brazil titled XUXA.

The success of the new format in Brazil follows last years introduction of the award-winning animated series in major international territories including, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Greece, Chile, Iceland, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Viet Nam, Poland, Hungary, the Czeck Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.
