C21 MEDIA reported that Varga Holdings and Australian producer Screentime are co-producing ANIMATED POPSTARS with the U.K.'s Target as the distribution partner. The series follows the adventures of a pop group on tour. It is based on the popular live-action show POPSTARS, where a group of unknowns is groomed to be the next big thing. Varga has also recently signed a co-development agreement with Happy Life (Sweden), which has already spawned three new pre-school projects MUFFIN, DARTANGYANG and PIGGY WIGGY, BJORN THE BEAR AND LORANGE. Varga has also completed another 26 episodes of the series LISA under the co-production deal. This 2D animated series tracks the adventures of four-year-old Lisa, who lives with her playful parents in a block of flats. When reality gets too boring, Lisa adds a bit of adventure and life gets more fun. The full 39 episode series has been licensed to HBO, as well as Nickelodeon in Europe. Varga has also recently completed the animation on the new HIT/Grand Slamm 26-part series ANGELINA BALLERINA, a 2D series based on the adventures of a ballet dancing mouse. Additionally, Varga is working in association with Tiger Aspect and Richard Purdum Productions, on Tiger Aspects animated adventures of MR. BEAN. Rowan Atkinson attended MIPCOM in support of the project and caused quite a stir!
