Update on KidScreen Summit

The 10th annual KidScreen Summit is shaping up to be one of the largest yet, with a record-setting two-thirds of attendees coming from outside the U.S. This gives delegates unprecedented access to the hottest producers and the most powerful broadcast execs from around the world.

The integrated conference format of keynote speeches, practical sessions and workshops is designed to help attendees network with top decision-makers and reconnect with old colleagues and business partners.

In the Summit's signature Speed Pitching sessions, 19 broadcast execs will collectively take more than 200 three-minute pitches. This format is a proven platform for kickstarting a project's development -- as an example, mememe Productions' preschool animated series DIRTGIRLWORLD, which is now in production as a co-pro for ABC (Australia), BBC (the U.K.) and CBC (Canada), got its start this way a few years ago.

Delegates can also meet new potential partners in three Speed Networking sessions, which provide targeted connections for companies looking to move their projects forward through consumer products, on-line development and co-production.

The networking extends after-hours as well, with three cocktail parties lined up to keep delegates entertained. Kicking off the Summit on Tuesday, February 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Little Airplane Productions is throwing open the doors of its amazing studio in New York's historic South Street Seaport for a Lift-Off Party co-hosted with UKTI (a trade and investment arm of the British Consulate) and BBC Worldwide.

And KidScreen is throwing an Opening Reception at the Hilton on Thursday, February 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by a Cocktail Mixer the next night from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

KidScreen Summit offers an unparalleled opportunity to keep abreast of important issues and trends in the fast-moving international kids entertainment industry, generate business and revenue opportunities, and network with the leading decision-makers. In 2008, the event attracted its largest-ever crowd of more than 1,500 kids entertainment professionals from 43 different countries.
