Universal Studios Launches New Logo To Celebrate E.T.’s 20th

Universal Studios is using the 20th anniversary re-release of Steven Spielbergs classic film E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL to launch a 13-month long branding initiative that includes a new Universal logo featuring E.T. According to the studio, the image of E.T. will be an integral part of Universal's identity and business activities, and will be featured in all film, television, home entertainment, theme parks, music, consumer products, publishing and online products. This corporate identity program will complement the March 2002 worldwide release of E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL. The newly released version of the film will feature never-before-seen footage, as well as state-of-the-art computer-generated enhancements and a digitally-remixed score. The newly-created animated Universal Studios logo, which depicts an image of E.T. and his human friend Elliott as their bicycle flies across the classic Universal globe, will debut in theaters on November 21, 2001 with the film SPY GAME, and continue on Universal films through 2002.
