Universal has purchased the film rights to popular children's book series WHERE'S WALDO?, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
The studio will make a live-action family film produced by Chris Meledandri's Illumination Ent. and exec produced by Classic Media's Eric Ellenbogen.
The series follows a lad named Waldo, wearing a red-and-white striped shirt, as he pops up in crowded full-page spreads. Waldo was previously at Paramount and Nickelodeon, with John Schultz attached to direct a script from Adam Rifkin with work by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.
