Ulead Systems, Inc. has released COOL 3D Studio, its 3D animation software for video production. Based on Ulead's COOL 3D software for creating 3D animation and text for the Web and presentation multimedia, COOL 3D Studio offers additional tools specifically designed for video editing professionals. The software offers features typically found in high-end 3D animation tools at a lower price point. Features include an independent key-frame timeline for each graphic object; the ability to pad frames before, in the middle, or after a given animation; direct import of 3D Studio Max and DirectX models; 3D space lighting controls; particle effects; and video effects such as comic, pen and sketch. Ulead COOL 3D Studio is available on Ulead's Web site at www.ulead.com for US$129 for the boxed version, and $119 for the electronic download. Registered users of previous COOL 3D versions will be able to buy the boxed upgrade for a limited time for $59.95 and the electronic download upgrade will available for a limited time for $54.95.
