The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Opens Strong in IMAX Theatres

IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq:IMAX) (TSX:IMX) and Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the highly anticipated third film in the studio's Twilight franchise, generated gross box office receipts of approximately $9 million from 193 IMAX theatres domestically from Wednesday June 30 through Monday July 5, for a per screen average of approximately $47,000.

LOS ANGELES, Jul 6, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) --IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq:IMAX) (TSX:IMX) and Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the highly anticipated third film in the studio's Twilight franchise, generated gross box office receipts of approximately $9 million from 193 IMAX theatres domestically from Wednesday June 30 through Monday July 5, for a per screen average of approximately $47,000. Internationally, the film opened on 11 IMAX screens, generating an estimated $235,000 from Thursday through Monday.
