Turner Hopes to Take Adult Swim Worldwide at MIPTV

Turner Broadcasting is bringing a range of programming from its popular young adult animation brand Adult Swim to this year's MIPTV. With over 350 hours of content available to third-party broadcasters, Turner Broadcasting's sales slate includes cult shows ROBOT CHICKEN, AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE, TIM AND ERIC and METALOCALYPSE.

Originally launched in the U.S. in 2001, Adult Swim has repeatedly set and broken cable channel audience records. Since becoming an individually-rated network in 2005, Adult Swim has ranked #1 in total delivery of adults 18-24 for 14 consecutive quarters. Additionally, Adult Swim has ranked #1 with men 18-34 for 11 of the last 14 quarters.

Launched online in the U.K. in 2006 at www.adultswim.co.uk, Turner Broadcasting has subsequently rolled out localized versions of the site in Italy, Spain and Germany, as well as branded program blocks on TNT in Spain and Germany. It has also launched Adult Swim branded destinations on third party platforms including Bebo, MySpace, YouTube, Joost and MSN.

Media sales and distribution company, Screen Opus, has been appointed by Turner Broadcasting to assist with the distribution of Adult Swim content. Nicolas Bonard, Co-President and Founder, Screen Opus commented, "Adult Swim is a huge hit in the US and we're looking to replicate this success with TV syndication deals across EMEA... Working on behalf of Turner Broadcasting, we'll be giving buyers the opportunity to purchase either individual shows or an entire branded block."

ROBOT CHICKEN (80 x 15) is an Emmy award-winning animation series which parodies popular culture, bringing stop-motion animated toys and action figures to life in 3D worlds. A host of celebrity guest stars have voiced characters including Charlize Theron, Scarlet Johansson, Burt Reynolds, Christian Slater, Ashton Kutcher, Cameron Diaz and David Hasselhoff. Two ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS specials in collaboration with LucasFilm include George Lucas voicing an animated version of himself and Mark Hamill reprising his original screen role as the voice of Luke Skywalker.

AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE (88 x 15) follows the surreal and comic adventures of a group of mystery-solving fast food animated characters. The team consists of Master Shake, a cynical and lazy milkshake; Frylock, a floating box of fries, who is the brains of the group; and Meatwad a dim-witted but loveable ball of meat. Together, they try to thwart villains who all seem to have some sort of connection to the aptly named Dr. Weird.

TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB (30 x 15) stars comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the creators of Adult Swim's TOM GOES TO THE MAYOR. It's a satirical comedy show which consists of sketches, fake commercials, prank phone calls and all manner of slapstick off-the-wall humor.

METALOCALYPSE (40 x 15) is an animated comedy series which follows the exploits of a fictitious half American, half Scandinavian death metal band known as Dethklok. The band and its members are huge the world over, but not the brightest -- a death metal version of Spinal Tap. Watch as they leave a trail of destruction and mayhem in their wake with their ear-melting onslaught of metal.
