TurboSquid, home to the world's largest marketplace of royalty-free 3D models, is pleased to announce a newly-formed relationship with VastPark, a highly interactive platform geared toward the easy creation of games and virtual worlds.
Traditionally, when users want 3D content to populate a digital world, they have to go through the steps of purchasing the content online, downloading it, and importing it manually into the world. TurboSquid and VastPark will simplify the process by enabling VastPark users to call content directly from TurboSquid's extensive catalog of more than 195,000 3D models and into a VastPark world.
"Our virtual world creators will benefit a great deal from the link to TurboSquid," says Bruce Joy, CEO of VastPark. "They'll have access to a large quantity of unique content that they can use more immediately. Our development with TurboSquid will make the process of creating high-quality virtual worlds much easier."
While a number of virtual world sites are available on the web, VastPark sets itself apart from other offerings with its wide range of interactivity options. Joy predicts that users will visit, play, and interact with each others' VastPark worlds in the same way they currently share and comment on each other's MySpace or Web pages.
"VastPark is unique in enabling users to legally remix existing community and professional content to create their own virtual room, game, or world," Joy said. "With the addition of the TurboSquid library, we'll be offering our creators a wide range of choices to customize their worlds exactly as they like."
VastPark is a virtual worlds platform supporting an ecosystem of creators, consumers and user-generated worlds. Built on five years of research and development and focused on effective open standards, VastPark features a highly distributed platform and free tools that enable users to create and publish 3D virtual worlds quickly and easily. Communities can create and monetize their own highly interactive worlds and empower their users creativity.
