Turbo Squid Releases Tentacles Plug-in for Maya, XSI and Cinema4D

Turbo Squid announced that its 3D application plug-in, Tentacles, is now available for the popular 3D applications 3ds Max 7, Maya 7.01 and 8.0, XSI 4.2 and 5.11 and Cinema4D 9.5, with more platforms due out this summer. Tentacles is a Flash-based plug-in that integrates the Turbo Squid purchasing process into a variety of popular 3D applications, enabling users to browse, compare and purchase 3D models and textures without ever leaving the 3D applications in which they are working.

Tentacles streamlines and simplifies the workflow of 3D artists. With Tentacles, artists can perform the following functions without leaving a 3D application window:* Browse and purchase products from the entire collection of Turbo Squid models * Search for models based on price range, category, file format, date of publication, or "trusted user" rating * Compare products side-by-side * Save payment information and wish lists * Unpack and import models into 3D applications from the Tentacles shopping cart

"Turbo Squid is excited to release this powerful tool to more members of the 3D community," explained Beau Perschall, Turbo Squid's vp of business development. "This release is another step towards our vision for Tentacles to provide a valuable service to anyone in the 3D community. This release is just the tip of the iceberg, and exciting new functionality is coming for our loyal vendors and clients alike over the next several months."

Tentacles is free and available now at the Turbo Squid website.
