Truespace 3D Now Supports Flash

Caligari Corporation, a provider of 3D authoring technologies, has announced that its 3D modeling and animation package trueSpace 5.1 now supports Macromedia Flash. This is in addition to Caligari's existing support for Macromedia Shockwave3D, Director8.5 and Viewpoint Experience Technology. Web developers can now convert their trueSpace5.1 objects (including NURBS) and scenes to Flash format, including all trueSpace geometry, materials, lights, views and even advanced animation techniques such as script animations, bones and key-frame animations. The Flash plug-in also provides a progress indicator, the ability to specify output resolution, frame rate, background color and animation interval. The addition also includes three Flash rendering options for outline, cartoon (with and without gradient) and photo-realistic output. trueSpace5.1 requires a Pentium II CPU, Windows 95/98/2000/NT, 64MB RAM and 50MB of free hard disk space. "trueSpace is fast becoming the premier authoring solution for rich Web content," said Roman Ormandy, Caligari president. "trueSpace has always been ahead of the curve in terms of user interface and modeling capabilities and now we've made it easy for Web designers to incorporate and distribute rich, scalable, lightweight Flash content, including animations, audio and interactive features, in their Web pages." The new Flash plug-in is available now for US$99, directly from Caligari. For more information visit Caligari's Website at www.caligari.com.
