Toy Story 3 Repeats As Box Office Champ

Disney-Pixar's TOY STORY 3 has done it again — claimed the top spot at the U.S. box office. For the weekend of June 25-27, 2010, the film earned another $59 million, lifting the film's two-week cume to $226.6 million.

Sony's Adam Sandler comedy, GROWN-UPS, debuted in second with $41 million. Tom Cruise's KNIGHT AND DAY premiered in third with a weak $20.5 million. For the action-comedy, visual effects were provided by Hydraulx, Rhythm & Hues, Soho VFX, Weta Digital and Wildfire Visual Effects.

Sony's hit THE KARATE KID kicked up an additional $15.4 million in fourth. The remake has collected $135.6 million.

In fifth, Fox's THE A-TEAM secured $6 million. With vfx from Digital Domain, Hydraulx, The Moving Picture Company (MPC), Proof and Soho VFX, the TV redux has a cume of $63.8 million.

Universal's comedy GET HIM TO THE GREEK slipped to sixth, bringing in another $3.01 million, making its cume $54.5 million.

SHREK FOREVER AFTER ranked seventh with another $2.88 million. The animated hit has earned $229.3 million.

PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME placed eighth with another $2.8 million. With visual effects from Double Negative, Bain VFX, BlueBolt, Centroid Motion Capture, Cinesite, Framestore, Lipsync Post, Matte Painting, Mobius MC, The Moving Picture Company (MPC), Nvizage, Nvizible and Peerless Camera Company, the Jerry Bruckheimer production has collected $86.2 million.

KILLERS dropped from eighth to ninth with $2 million, raising its cume to $44 million.

Warner Bros. JONAH HEX rounded out the top ten with $1.6 million. The comic book adaptation, with vfx from Hydraulx, Proof, Rodeo FX and Soho VFX, has brought in $9.14 million thus far.
