Totally Spies Moves to Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has acquired 50 episodes of TOTALLY SPIES, which started airing July 7, 2003 at 4:30 pm. The series, from French producer Marathon, first aired in the U.S. on Fox Family Channel in 2001. It features three teenage girls who are super agents in sort of an animated CHARLIE'S ANGELS with a distinctive visual style influenced by everything from JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS to anime.

Sam, Clover and Alex are three teenagers from Beverly Hills who to work for W.O.O.H.P., the World Organization of Human Protection. One moment, these three seemingly ordinary teens could be shopping at the mall or studying for exams and the next are summoned by Jerry, their leader, and dispatched across the globe on a top-secret mission.

Sam, a redhead, is the group's most rational and logical member. She keeps a cool head under pressure and relies on her brainpower to get her group out of danger. Clover, the blonde, is the slick-talking, gutsy member. She's athletic and agile and ready to do whatever it takes to solve a problem. Alex, the brunette, is the youngest and most naïve member of the team. She jumps into situations without being aware of all the risks involved, and she does all she can to keep dissention within the group at a minimum.

The TOTALLY SPIES agents get new cool gadgets in nearly every episode. Among their cool tools: a compact that doubles as a mobile videophone, titanium drill-heeled boots, anti-gravity propulsion rings and a laser-equipped hair dryer.

Marathon used American TV writers to capture the essence of U.S. teenagers for this series, recorded the voices in America and used a French fashion design consultant to help the girls make a trendy fashion statement.
