Toronto Animated Image Society News Update

For their November event, the Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) welcomes Derek Lamb, former filmmaker and executive producer of animation at the National Film Board of Canada. He will present an evening of screenings and insights into independent filmmaking. Derek Lamb is the Academy award-winning producer of EVERY CHILD, and dean of film at Harvard University. He has worked on episodes of SESAME STREET, collaborated with Edward Gorey on the PBS MYSTERY! opening sequence, produced and directed films for Street Kids International and is currently producer of the MEENA O MEENA series for PBS. This TAIS event is scheduled for Thursday, November 1, 2001 at 8:00 pm, Room 310 Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Toronto. Admission: TAIS members free, public $5.00. TAIS members will receive the student rate for the seventh annual Toronto Digital Image Festival (TDIF). TDIF is scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2001 and showcases the Toronto computer animation community. For more information about the festival go to http://www.tdif.on.ca.
