Toonz Animation India Purchases 11 Animo Licenses

Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd., a new animation production studio, has purchased 11 licenses of Cambridge Animation Systems' Animo 2D software. All the systems run under Windows NT.

"We selected Animo because it satisfies all of our digital animation needs, whether for commercials, television series or feature films," says Bill Dennis, president and CEO of Toonz Animation.

Toonz Animation will offer a full-range of production services for episodic television series and commercials, and will specialize in developing original pilot shows based on Indian folklore and mythology. The studio plans to create four pilots during its first year of operation. Other scheduled projects include a series of commercials for Cartoon Network, Hong Kong, and pre-production work for a feature film.

The Animo line of products was developed and is marketed exclusively by Cambridge Animation, with headquarters in Cambridge, U.K., and a U.S. subsidiary in Glendale, Calif. Animo is the world's leading 2D professional animation software, with an installed base of more than 1,400 seats in more than 50 countries. It is used for feature films, animated television series, commercials, games, and multimedia development by leading studios worldwide, including Warner Bros. Feature Animation, DreamWorks SKG, Nelvana Limited, Pentafour Software, Tape House, Telemagination, and Interplay.
