Press Release from Toons for Toddlers
TORONTO (June 17, 2009) -- Robyn Green-Ruskin, President of Sunflower Productions and Owner of the highly successful cinema series, "Movies for Mommies" today announced the addition of two more theatres to the Toons for Toddlers national program bringing the total number of screening locations to 18. The Kingsway Theatre in Toronto and The Magic Lantern Duggan Cinema in Camrose, Alberta have been added to the program starting this August.
Toons for Toddlers currently screens monthly programs across Canada including Vancouver, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Oakville, Ottawa, Gatineau Montreal and Quebec City, with three theatres providing content in French. The program offers parents with children, aged two to five years, the opportunity to experience "going to the movies" with preschool content at a shorter viewing length of 60 minutes compared to full-length feature films. All participating theatres will turn up their lights slightly and soften the sound for little ears.
A joint collaboration between Sunflower Productions and The Licensing Shop Inc., `Toons for Toddlers showcases some of the best available preschool content in Canada for only five dollars per toddler -- accompanying adults are free of charge. To date, programs have included "In The Night Garden", "Toot & Puddle", "Are We There Yet?", "Mama Mirabelle" and "Toopy & Binoo". Shown monthly, this month's program held on June 27 and 28 will be "Super Why" and "Sid The Science Kid."
