Toei's Mononoke to Screen at Nippon Connection

JAPAN (April 16, 2009) -- Toei Animation announced today that MONONOKE has been chosen to screen at this year's Nippon Connection taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from April 15-19.

With more than 150 features and short films, the Nippon Connection film festival showcases a broad scope of current Japanese film productions, from avant-garde and anime to blockbusters and documentary films, many of them German and European premieres. The festival is divided into the following categories: Nippon Cinema, Nippon Digital, Nippon Retro, Nippon Culture and Nippon Connection Festival. MONONOKE will be present at Nippon Digital on Saturday, April 18.

MONONOKE -- A mysterious medicine vender faces a various type of dangerous spirits -- known as Mononoke -- as he travels on the roads of Japan. With the stylish character design and incorporating innovative, never-used-before CG processing, e.g. texture simulating Japanese paper, this series leads you to the extraordinary animation world.
