Toei Animation Highlights Toriko at MIPCOM 2011

Toei Animation has set MIPCOM 2011 for the global distribution launch of TORIKO, the company’s newest animated hit series from Japan, it was announced by Kanji KAZAHAYA, Director, Global Licensing Business Department for Toei Animation.

CANNES, (September 22, 2011) – Toei Animation has set MIPCOM 2011 for the global distribution launch of TORIKO, the company’s newest animated hit series from Japan, it was announced by Kanji KAZAHAYA, Director, Global Licensing Business Department for Toei Animation.

Based off of the highly acclaimed manga by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, TORIKO follows the adventures of the legendary Gourmet Hunter as he tracks down the rarest animals on the planet and puts them on a plate!  The world is full of deliciously deadly ingredients that the wealthiest appetites in existence can't wait to devour – TORIKO is on the hunt!

“TORIKO has gained an impressive loyal following in Japan since its April debut and we believe it will follow Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball Z and One Piece as a global hit series,” said Kazahaya.

Toei Animation will celebrate the MIPCOM 2011 global launch of TORIKO with a cocktail reception to be held Monday October 3 at 6pm at the company’s stand #R35.17. TORIKO is produced and distributed worldwide by Toei Animation.
