Thumb Wrestling Federation Body Slams New Licensees

Cartoon Network series THUMB WRESTLING FEDERATION: TWF has expanded its licensing roster with the addition of three new licensees. Jay Franco & Sons, Aquarius Entertainment Merchandising and Scholastic Books join master toy licensee Think Wow Toys U.S. and previously announced U.S. licensees, Mad Engine, Berkshire Fashions and Dream Apparel.

Jay Franco & Sons will develop a full line of bedding, throws, pillows, bath and beach towels and accessories, as well as slumber bags; Aquarius Entertainment Merchandising will distribute posters, calendars, puzzles and playing cards; and Scholastic Books will publish an inside the ropes look at the history, stars, and action of the TWF with their Official TWF "Thumbbook."

TWF launched in the U.S. last November with series bouts airing Monday thru Friday, and a half hour recap airing on Saturday mornings. The live-action sports spoof has continued to build its viewership week by week, particularly with its core audience of boys 6-11. Cartoon Network recently branded their entire Saturday morning block, from 8 a.m.-Noon, as the Saturday Crush Zone. During this prime four hour period, series announcers Dick Thompson and wrestling legend Colonel Cossack take viewers in and out of commercial breaks with their TWF talk. Kids can continue the excitement by reviewing matches and other exclusive content at http://twf.cartoonnetwork.com.

THUMB WRESTLING FEDERATION: TWF is a creation of Larry Schwarz and is produced by his New York based independent studio, Animation Collective. The show chronicles the wacky exploits of two teams of masked wrestling thumbs -- the noble Mighty Dexteras and their arch enemies, the evil Sinistras -- in a fast-paced, thumb-to-thumb competition. In addition to the individual bouts, hysterical wrestler biographies and special features are all part of the wrestling series.
