Thru The Moebius Strip Website Goes Live

THRU THE MOEBIUS STRIP, the animated 3D feature film from acclaimed French graphic artist/novelist Jean "Moebius" Giraud, has launched its official website (www.moebius-strip.com). In conjunction with the launch, Moebius is scheduled as the first ever online celebrity interview and chat sponsored by WIRED. Details will soon be available on www.moebius-strip.com and in the July issue of Wired. "I'm trying to find a balance between the strange ideas I have and the dream of a movie for everyone," said Moebius in a quote from the WIRED story. "Wired readers have been fans of Moebius' graphic work since Heavy Metal in the '70s, so of course we jumped at the chance to bring them this sneak preview of his first feature film," said WIRED senior associate editor Jennifer Hillner. The film's director, Frank Foster, said, "Moebius has a tremendous worldwide fan following, and therefore, we realized bringing a creative Website designer on board was important in generating ongoing visibility for the film since we're more than two years away from our debut." THRU THE MOEBIUS STRIP is a story of physicist Dr. Simon Weir, who has perfected a transportation portal, but then mysteriously disappears. His pioneering family of space travelers pursues him to a strange planet in another galaxy, which is inhabited by giant aliens. Scheduled to hit theaters in France in summer 2003, the film was written by James Cox, who wrote the original screenplay for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER and FERN GULLY, THE LAST RAINFOREST.
