Threshold Digital Gets Afterlife at FOX

FOX has ordered a digitally animated pilot presentation for THE AFTERLIFE from Santa Monica, California-based Threshold Digital Research Labs. The primetime animated sitcom follows the adventures of the Franklin family after a "slight photo glitch" kills them all by accident, landing them in a purgatory that looks a lot like suburban Los Angeles. Due to an administrative hiccup, processing them to their next life might take two or 300 years. Barry Bostwick (SPIN CITY) will voice the character of the earnest and eternally optimistic patriarch, Stan. Kerri Kenney (THE ELLEN SHOW) will voice Stans well-meaning, but neurotic wife Flo. Alexandra Holden (ALLY MCBEAL, FRIENDS) is Bree the beautiful and overly dramatic daughter while Danny Strong (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) will voice Zach, the misfit Goth teenage son. Executive producer is Larry Kasanoff, co-executive producers/writers are David Schneiderman and Derek Guiley, with producers George Johnsen, Alison Savitch and Kristy Scanlan. THE AFTERLIFE was created by Kasanoff, Joshua Wexler, Schneiderman and Derek Guiley. TDRL is producing its first full-length digitally animated feature film, FOODFIGHT! the first of several digitally animated feature films planned for release. The company has created and produced digital visual effects for theatricals, such as I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, THE FACULTY, SCARY MOVIE, and DOGMA; for TV commercials such as Korbel Champagne and General Motors; for TV series like MORTAL KOMBAT: CONQUEST, and for theme parks worldwide. TDRL recently produced a fully CGI animated theatrical short called EDWARD FUDWUPPER FIBBED BIG with Berkley Breathed (creator of BLOOM COUNTY) for Nickelodeon and produced and animated HERSHEYS REALLY BIG 3-D SHOW, it says is the first feature-length quality original production showcasing CGI/3D animation, presented in 3D high definition with glasses and digital projection.
