Independent animation producer Delaney and Friends is planning to merge with 3D and interactive content providers Brainchild Studios and Furious Entertainment to create the new, publicly traded entity SecondSun Entertainment. Combining the strengths of the three Vancouver-based companies, the new venture will focus on the development, financing and production of animated TV series, direct-to-video features, TV commercials, special effects, movies and interactive games. SecondSun Entertainment plans to raise an initial $3 million for upcoming productions through an offering on the CDNX (Canadian venture exchange) and a private placement with additional private funds to come. Pacific International Securities Inc. of Vancouver will broker the initial offering on the public market. The new company has immediate plans to produce a 26-episode 2D and 3D animated series titled THE BOTTLE IMP, developed in association with Teletoon. Production of five direct-to-video features budgeted in the $3 million each range are also planned, as is a new 3D animated pre-school series called BUMBLZ and two interactive computer games. The completion of the merger and creation of SecondSun Entertainment is subject to final approval by the Canadian Venture Exchange and all parties involved. Delaney and Friends are the producers of such programs as CHRISTOPHER THE CHRISTMAS TREE, THE LITTLEST ANGEL, THE LEGEND OF THE CANDY CANE and NILUS THE SANDMAN.
