THQ'S Cars Races to Xbox 360 in Time for the Holiday DVD Movie Launch

THQ Inc. has released Disney/Pixar's CARS for Xbox 360, in conjunction with the Cars holiday DVD launch on Nov. 7, 2006. This follows the launch of this past summer's blockbuster cross-platform launch of the game for the PlayStation2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PC and Mac. The Xbox 360 version is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $49.99. CARS is also scheduled to release for Nintendo Wii on Nov. 13.

"With the CARS videogame having already shipped more than four million units worldwide, we're excited to make the leap to the next-generation systems in order to offer more gamers a way to experience this popular interactive racing adventure," said John Ardell, director of global brand marketing, THQ. "Our record sales numbers to date are a tremendous achievement; CARS is on-track to become the top selling kids game of 2006."

The game is a high performance interactive experience in the open world created in the film, challenging players to relive the excitement created by Lightning McQueen and his friends. Fans will discover unique characters and environments, inspired by the film, with more than 10 playable characters and 30 races and minigames to choose from. The game features a fully immersive re-creation of all major environments introduced in the movie, including Radiator Springs and Ornament Valley, which offer distinctive racing experiences to players while maintaining the artistic style of the film.

CARS for Xbox 360 was developed by the critically acclaimed video game developer, Rainbow Studios.
