THQ's Avatar Game Scores Sony's Greatest Hits Status

THQ's first videogame title based on the popular Nickelodeon TV series, AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER, has reached a major retail milestone as Sony Computer Ent. America's "Greatest Hits" status for the PlayStation 2 and is now available at retailers throughout North America for the suggested retail price of $19.99. AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER made its videogame debut in October 2006 and finished the year as THQ's top-selling Nick property.

THQ is expected to release another AVATAR videogame this fall for Xbox, PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER -- THE BURNING EARTH will follow the second season of the TV series.

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER videogame brings to life an adven-ture of intrigue, deceit and revelation. Players will be able to play as all four main characters from the show -- Aang, Katara, Haru and Sokka -- as they grow their team into an unstoppable force making discoveries in a blend of martial arts combat and controlling the elements. Players need to learn numerous bending powers in order to master the four elements of Water, Earth, Fire and Air, while jour-neying through the various environments. Players will encounter ad-ditional characters from the show and discover never before seen enemies and creatures.
