In its KIDS' WB! debut, the new Japanese anime series YU-GI-OH! ranked No. 1 among the broadcast competition in its time period in Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11, Boys 2-11 and Boys 6-11. The Japanese anime series follows the adventures of a young boy named Yugi, who morphs into a monster-fighting hero after piecing together the "millennium puzzle" given to him by his grandfather. YU-GI-OH! is represented world-wide outside of Asia, by 4Kids Entertainment. The company is also responsible for the mega-franchise POKEMON, which for its fourth year also commanded winning ratings in both its 8:00 am and 10:00 am KIDS' WB! time periods. At the same time, 4Kids' original animated property CUBIX, which debuted in August 2001, continues to lead all broadcast competition in its 8:30 am time slot on KIDS' WB! giving 4Kids Entertainment four top-rated shows on the network.
