Uber producer Gale Anne Hurd (THE WALKING DEAD) is developing a new TV series based on Annie Jacobsen’s book AREA 51: AN UNCENSORED HISTORY OF AMERICA’S TOP SECRET MILITARY BASE, reports Deadline.com. The story follows two workers at the top-secret government facility that get wrapped up in a huge cover-up.

Karl Gajdusek (TRESPASS) will pen the script, showrun and exec produce alongside Hurd. The novel's author will serves as a consulting producer.
